What is causing my tooth discolouration?
Discolouration on your teeth can be caused by many different reasons and sources. Most of the time, it’s a part of aging that teeth appear more yellow. Certain foods and drinks such as tea, coffee, soy sauce, red wine, instant noodles, and specific medications can also penetrate through the enamel surface and attribute to stains.
How does teeth whitening work?
Teeth whitening works by applying a layer of specially formulated whitening gel over the tooth surface. This gel reacts into water and oxygen ions when applied on the tooth surface. The oxygen ions safely absorb into the enamel and break down the stain molecules to make them colourless. These short and colourless molecules are then naturally washed away from our tooth by saliva.
